The GroW Garden at the George Washington University is a student project that cultivates a garden of crops, which are donated to a local kitchen. Over the summer of 2012 over 1000 pounds of food were harvested from the garden.
Volunteering in the garden includes weeding, harvesting vegetables, digging, using hand tools but no previous knowledge is necessary. Bring a water bottle, hat (optional), close-toed shoes, clothes which you don't care about getting dirty, and a positive attitude.
Please note: Advance notice is appreciated if children will be volunteering. The contact person at the event is Jesse Schaffer.
